A success story

Family reunification and strengthening

Florence was struggling to take care of her 7 children. With no room for the older boys to sleep, they were taken in by relatives or went to the streets looking for work, school fees or food. After finding her oldest son in the streets and taking him back to school, we began working towards reintegrating the boy back to his family. However, there still was no place for him to sleep in their tiny mud home.

We were able to build a home large enough for the entire family and now the boys can live with their mother and siblings and take care of the farming and other duties. The younger siblings now do not need to worry about having a place to come home to.

Florence was also given start-up capital for a soap making business and the family is no longer reliant on our organization for support.
